Jacqueline Canter of Canter’s Deli
Canter’s Deli, the iconic Jewish deli in Los Angeles, has been open for 93 years and holds the honor of being one of California’s oldest delis. In 1953, it moved to its current home on Fairfax, where everyone from Marilyn Monroe, Guns N’ Roses and U.S. Presidents have taken up a booth to nosh on pastrami on rye and matzo ball soup into the wee hours of the night. It’s also where countless generations of Los Angeles families have gathered to catch up over shared plates of smoked fish and potato pancakes. Canter’s is Los Angeles original late night LA hot spot, open 24 hours a day. Having won numerous awards for its delectable Pastrami, it is the “go to” deli for Angelenos and visitors from all over the world.
Jacqueline Canter, third generation of the Canter family is the co-owner of Canters. Jacqueline will share stories of this historic legendary time capsule Los Angeles instititution as we sample Canter’s finest deli food.
