A Letter from our President, Jill Cossman
2014 has been a fabulous year of programs for Women's Leadership Council. We started the year with Belinda Smith Walker, Co-Founder of Girls and Gangs as the speaker for the ninth annual Fulfillment Fund kickoff luncheon in January.
We welcomed six new Fulfillment Fund mentees to our mentoring program in furtherance of our goal of making a positive contribution to the next generation of women leaders. In April, the Honorable Jackie Lacey, Los Angeles County District Attorney shared her journey from a local Los Angeles native to being the top prosecutor in Los Angeles. In May, Alison Winter, Co-Founder of Women Corporate Directors told us how she broke the glass ceiling in the banking world. At a novel Sunday brunch event, Dr. Mao Shing Ni shared with us his secrets of longevity and how to nurture the body, mind and spirit. In August, we held our members only dinner where we welcomed the new members. In the summer, several of our board members hosted intimate dinners at their homes for our members. In October, we will go behind the scenes with Deborah Borda, the President of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. In November, we will hold our annual wine and gourmet dinner at RivaBella.
Thank you all for the wonderful and inspiring programs that contributed to such a successful year!
