Dare to Lead
Dr. Ann McElaney-Johnson is president of Mount Saint Mary’s University, the only women’s university in Los Angeles and one of the most diverse in the nation. She is recognized as a thought leader for the advancement of women and a champion for innovative teaching and learning. After leading the University through a strategic planning process, she identified gender equity, wellness and diversity and inclusion as her top priorities.
Dr. McElaney-Johnson was recently named President of the Board for the Women’s College Coalition and serves on several other boards including the Advisory Board for the Women in Public Service Project at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Advisory Board of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media at Mount Saint Mary’s, among others.
She earned her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA from Middlebury College, Vermont, and a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts. Dr. McElaney-Johnson speaks nationally and internationally about the importance of women’s colleges and the advancement of women and girls.
